While I was only present for the A Open Design portion of the Inland, this is my take with respect to [b]buoys[/b]:

1. They need to be much larger (especially at Oshkosh with the bigger waves) and/or higher in the air, etc.

2. Buoys in boats need to be covered since they are often easier to spot than the buoys in the water.

The other thing the AOD requested, and received after their meeting (after the first day of racing), was timer countdowns and compass headings with course changes rather than just the side it changed towards.

The 2007 ILYA Inland Championship has come and gone. A post regatta participant survey was conducted by the ILYA Fleet Committee, and is now posted to the website:

Let's start collecting ideas now to make the 2008 Inland Championship the best yet. The regatta will be in Okoboji next August.

Hey C boaters, looking forward to seeing those of you who have registered already for the Champs in Oshkosh Aug. 10-13! PRO Chip Mann is ready for some great racing in the protected waters east of the Pioneer to avoid some of the legendary Winnebago rollers. For anyone "on the fence" about attending for any reason, be it housing, crew, etc, feel free to contact me and I'll try to work out whatever I can to get you here for another legendary Oshkosh regatta.
