Its a carbon fiber extension. It has a larger diameter then most so it feels good in your hand, yet it is very light. I believe its sold at 48" then you take your hack saw to shorten it a little. It may sound a little odd to cut it like that, but once you recap the end it looks great. I believe the Fatso tiller extension may be the standard on new boats now from Melges. Give them a call.
