Blast from the past note – First NCSSA Championship

We received the following note with a little history tidbit from the first NCSSA Nationals regatta – courtesy of Steve Avery P-51

“The first national was held at Minnetonka and won by Johnny Gluek, with Jack Strothman and Peter Rogers second and second was at Okoboji and won by Peter Watson in massive air.  The nationals event was the brain child of Strothman, Watson, and Peter Kitchak all from Tonka.   In the second year we secured a very nice silver trophy from Budweiser as the championship trophy and it disappeared to someones den or living room years ago.”     Steve Avery
